Future Projects
This year we are focusing on three projects centered around providing resources to educators and title one schools.
Gear Collection
This year we are building our outdoor gear supplies. We plan to spend 30% of our budget to ensure students have high quality gear for their experiences. This includes the purchase of tents, sleeping bags, cooking stoves, snow gear and outdoor clothing.
To achieve this goal we are asking for support from outdoor gear suppliers, local bay area businesses and individual monetary contributions. (Clean and lightly used gear happily accepted)
Curriculum Library for Physical Education
We are working closely with schools to create customized curriculum to serve each schools identified population including: BIPOC youth, LGBTQ+ focal groups.
We believe having an easily accessible guides/ resources/ tools will empower and increase the longevity for educators doing the work. If you would like to be apart of this curriculum building or are seeking customize curriculum for your school site please contact us for support.
Mental Health Activities
Color the outdoors is geared towards providing spaces of healing that promote reconnection with the land, spirit and heart. We understand when looking at the whole individual, mental health plays an important role in growth.

Color the Outdoors believes activities such as drum healing, yoga, hiking, and nature exploration can help build a stronger foundation for mental health. We plan to promote and hire local POC companies to work with our young people. To support schools, we will work to connect and promote organizations catered to young peoples mental health.
